Biscuits and Gravy

One of my all time favorite meals!

Ingredients

Biscuits

Gravy

Seasoning (measure with your heart)


Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment
  3. In a larg bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder
  4. Make a well in the center of the mix and add buttmilk, the egg, melted butter and 2 tablespoons of water
  5. Using a wooden spoon, mix and cut to form dough *Not a bread dough! Do not over-mix*
  6. add cubes of butter and knead into the dough no more than 7-8 times.
  7. roll/press dough onto floured mat until it reaches a thickness of 1/2 inch
  8. cut the biscuits, do not turn the cutter
  9. bake for 12-15 minutes

Gravy

  1. cook sausage fully and season with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, italian seasoning, chill powder and Worcestershire sauce (guesstimate according to taste)
  2. add butter
  3. sprinkle with flour and stir
  4. add milk and stir
  5. continue stirring over medium heat for 5-10 minutes. the gravy should thicken
  6. Serve the gravy over the biscuits and enjoy!
