Replacing my general Nanbaka shrine with just a Nico shrine because I am so autistic about him!!
One of the main protagonists of the webcomic series Nanbaka. He is a 16 year old inmate at the worlds most secure prison, Nanba. originally arrested for unknowingly transporting drugs, Nico used to break out from jail to avoid getting injections of medication. Now in Nanba, he is given oral-medication rather than injections and he no longer has a desire to actually escape Nanba (although he does continue to break out of his cell, for funsies).
What made me love him?
This! He has food allergies and his friends make sure he can still be included despite that! As a teen with food allergies, this really struck a cord with me. He immediately became a favorite of mine. I relate to him a lot! Kinnie cringe time: he is me! I am him!
Headcanons?
- Nico is genderqueer and uses any/all pronouns!
- Nico is allergic to Buckwheat (canon), soy, peanuts and treenuts, along with seasonal pollen allergies and has allergies to some perfumes.
- Nico has POTS and gets dizzy when he stands up.
- Nico's favorite video game is Custom Robo: Battle Revolution
- Nico can read Japanese, but not English, despite English being his native language. This is because he didn't know how to read before meeting and being taught by Jyugo, who is Japanese and (probably) monolingual.
- Nico sleeps close to Rock because he has an anxiety disorder and PTSD from the human expiramentation he went through. Rock makes him feel safe, so Nico tends to stay close to him, especially at night.
- Nico is super interested in cosplay, and as soon as he gets released he wants to try cosplaying as one of his favorite anime characters.
- He has a crush on Uno but hides it as well as he can.
- I'm also stealing this headcanon someone left in my inbox forever ago. TL;DR, the skin under Nico's bandages is fragile and easily damaged due to a lack of collagen.
